Apparently I’ve just got back from the 80’s otherwise known as Luton.
Fuck me I thought Glasgow was shit what a fucking hole that place is
Typical friendly have to say we look massively under cooked at the mo. Two weeks away and they look miles off it.
Played a back 3 and we looked all over the shop in the first 20mins once we settled down thought we did ok.
Usual problems if Arthur was a horse they’d of put him out of his misery ages ago how the fuck this geezer is a pro is beyond me, cresswell looked more comfortable in a back three but still looked so slow and got bullied by their big lump up front. Antonio came on and looked like he’ll never score a single goal ever again…three games I’ve seen in the last week and he’s been clean through in each game and at no point did I think he’d score and true to form I’m not sure he even really came close on all three occasions. Soucek did alright good to see him nick a goal if he’s going to play and we want a decent season he needs to find his shooting boots from two seasons ago.

Just got back. If Arthur Masuaku does anything other than bench warm this season, we are fucked.

I agree friendlies are pretty meaningless and it was played at half pace. However we’ve looked a bit rusty, add in the lack of transfer activity and it heightens the feeling of negativity heading into the new season

It's pre season FFS . Did you see any of our players putting in any heavy tackles ? I knew pre season games were a farce 35 years ago aged 14 and haven't been to one since . And that was Chris hughtons brother Henry's testimonial game against us at orient .

Normally I wouldnt either. But its the combination of pre-season and the end of last season that has me nervous.
I dont see any strategy or style of play that we are working on to fix last seasons problems. And I see pretty much the same players that will start in august.
So if players arent changed, and the current players dont look any better than last season, and we aren't changing our tactics/style .. then yeah, its pretty worrying.
Moyes doesnt seem bothered enough to have gotten any signings in for pre-season, so its not like he's relying on new signings to radically change his strategy this season. For some reason he seem to think that is just fatigue thats a problem and not that teams have worked us out... I think thats a bit sad really. He's in for a rude awakening this season I feel.

People read far too much into these games. Mere training exercises. What matters is being ready for the start of the season.

We have overachieved it's true... but we had Soucek, Fornals, Coufal, Cresswell and Antonio all playing at a standard several levels above where they are currently. Rice currently looks disinterested - or maybe disillusioned - so you can add him into the mix, and we're still a team that gained 8 points from their last 9 games

Hmmm… not the most confidence inspiring performance. Neat and tidy in the main and controlled the game but seriously lacking a cutting edge and as usual no pace.
Benrahma’s passing and speed of thought will always hold him back and not sure of his role other than as an impact sub.
Cresswell should be a back up simple as that. Still got a decent left peg but pace of the game and physicality too much now for him imo.
We need someone left side and based of Antonio last 6 months we need another striker even if we get the Italian lad.
I also think we need this Onana assuming he is all he is cracked up to be
Based on preseason we look lower table material. A team in need of fresh faces

has been like that for ages now.
When I'm wondering "how" we can break down the defence of Luton town .. well I dont know what to say any more.
And the back 3 50 miles apart.. I hope that isnt practice for City.. would be cricket scores ..

Moyes just doesn't know his formation. Only a few definite starters in my opinion (minus keepers)

Antonio is bloody awful
Cresswell is a liability
Zouma is so slow and uncomfortable with the ball
Johnson not a left sided player for me
Soucek can score headers, but that is it
Benny has no end ball

Rice , Zouma, Lanzini and Coufal the rest were crap relegation trouble season ahead . unless we buy wisely . Vlasic cannot even be sold, no one wants him.
